SYLVIA KOWALSKI, CANISIUS
F, Sr., 5-6, Hamilton, Ontario/Cathedral
Kowalski, a senior forward, netted three goals and added one assist to her credit for seven points this past week. She banked two goals in the Griffs' 3-2 win at St. Bonaventure, including the tying goal at the 53rd minute. In the overtime victory at St. Francis (Pa.), Kowalski earned her assist on a corner kick in the first minute of the contest, and later scored the game-winning shot off another corner kick in the 98th minute to seal the win. She currently leads the MAAC in points with four goals and three assists for 11 points.
MAAC Defensive Player of the Week
CAROLINE ROBERT, CANISIUS
GK, So., 6-0, Ottawa, Ontario/E.S.P. Louis Riel
Robert, a sophomore goalkeeper, tallied nine saves in 188:12 minutes of work to help the Griffs to a 2-0 week. She made four saves in the win at St. Bonaventure, and then followed with five saves in the overtime victory at St. Francis (Pa.). Over Canisius' first four games this season, Robert owns a 1.16 goals against average and a .737 save percentage.
MAAC Rookie of the Week
JAMIE RAEPPLE, NIAGARA
F, Fr., 5-2, Grand Island, N.Y./Grand Island
Raepple, a freshman forward, scored three of Niagara's four goals this weekend as the Purple Eagles went 1-1-0 against Robert Morris and Cornell. Against Cornell, she scored two goals on two shots, including the game-winning goal at the 23rd minute for the Purple and White. Raepple is tied for first place on the league's goals chart with four during her rookie campaign.
