Vess, Bowman Earn Indoor Track Weekly Awards

Edison, NJ – Marist College’s Adam Vess was named the MAAC Men’s Indoor Track Performer of the Week, while Manhattan College’s Ashley Bowman was selected as the Women’s Performer of the Week.
Vess, a sophomore from Cromwell, Connecticut, anchored the Distance Medley Relay team, which qualified for the IC4A Championship as it won the event at the NYU Metro Collegiate Coaches Invitational on Friday at the Armory Track & Field Center with a time of 10:10.22. He trailed by 30 meters when he was handed the baton, but over the course of his one mile split Vess closed the gap to earn the victory in come-from-behind fashion. His 1,600-meter split was 4:09.7.
Bowman, a freshman, posted an ECAC qualifying and personal record time of 24.97 to place second in the 200-meter dash at the NYU Metro Collegiate Coaches Invitational this past Friday at the Armory Track & Field Center.
The MAAC Men’s and Women’s Indoor Track and Field Championships will be held on Friday, February 19th at The Armory Track & Field Center in New York City.
