Cook averaged 19.3 points,
six rebounds, and three steals per game in three wins for Iona this week. She
extended her double digit scoring streak to seven straight games with 15 points
at Niagara and led the Gaels with 19 points against Siena and a career-high 24
points versus Saint Peter's. During Iona's current five game winning streak,
Cook has averaged 18.4 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 2.4 steals per contest.
MAAC Rookie of the
Week
CAITLIN BOPP, RIDER
Freshman, Center, 6-2, Baltimore, MD/Institute of Notre Dame
The Rider rookie continued
to fill up the stat sheet in three games last week. Bopp averaged a
double-double with 10.7 points and 13.3 rebounds per game. Against defending
MAAC champion Marist, Bopp had six points and 12 rebounds as Rider was within
two points of the Red Foxes with three minutes left before Marist pulled away
to win by 10. Against Canisius, Bopp had her fifth double-double of the season
scoring 15 points while pulling down 13 rebounds. Against Niagara, Bopp had 11
points and tied a career-high with 15 rebounds, her sixth career double-double,
second in row and fourth of the month. Bopp is currently third in the nation
among rookies in rebounding and 30th overall at 9.9 rebounds per game. She is
averaging 14.1 points and 17.9 rebounds per 40 minutes played and is averaging
12.2 points and 12.8 rebounds per game in MAAC play.
