ALEX FRANKLIN, SIENA

Franklin, a senior forward, averaged 24.5 points, 9.0 rebounds and 2.0 blocks per game in a pair of Siena wins. He shot 55 percent from the field (16-29) on the week and made 17-of-23 free throws. Franklin began the week with a game-high 22 point, eight-rebound and two-steal effort in the Saints' comeback win over Loyola. He scored a Siena season-high 27 points and rounded out a double-double with 10 rebounds in the team's win at Manhattan. Franklin took over the team scoring lead this week (16.1 ppg) and is the only player in the MAAC to rank in the top five in scoring (third), rebounding (fifth) and field goal percentage (third).
MAAC ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
RASHARD MCGILL, IONA
Freshman, Guard, 6-5, 205, Havana, Fla./Massanutten Military Acad.
McGill, a freshman guard, averaged 9.0 points and 5.5 rebounds in Iona's 2-0 week in wins over Manhattan and Fairfield. He tallied a career-best 13 points and seven rebounds against the Jaspers, leading the Gaels in scoring for the second time this season. For the week, McGill shot 54.5 percent overall from the field and 50.0 percent from beyond the arc.
