Staten Island, NY - Wagner College Director of Athletics Walt Hameline has named Chris Radmonovich as the Head Water Polo coach. Radmonovich assumes control of the highly-successful program from Pat Beemer, who recently left to accept an assistant coaching position at the University of Indiana.

“I am honored to be the fourth water polo coach in Wagner history and look to continue the winning ways that coach Beemer has instilled in the team for the past six seasons,” said Radmonovich. “The Wagner Water Polo team has enjoyed great success in its nine years of existence and I am looking forward to continuing that tradition of excellence.”

Radmonovich comes to Grymes Hill after serving as the Senior Coach of the Houston Water Polo Club where he developed and coordinated all training and technical direction for the Senior Group as well as serving as the Head Coach of the U18 squad. Previously, Radmonovich was the head coach of the Hutt Aquatics Club in Wellington, New Zealand, helping the senior men’s team to the Silver Medal at the National Championship Meet.

Previously to those stints, Radmonovich was in California for six years, spending the last three as the head coach of the Stockton Water Polo and Swim Club, where he guided the Senior Swimming Group, and as the Aquatics Director of the Saint Mary’s High School aquatic program. While at Saint Mary’s he helped the Rams to seven league titles and one CIF Championship, all of which were firsts in school history.

His first three years in Stockton were spent as an assistant coach for the men’s water polo program at the University of the Pacific. While with the Tigers, he helped aid in the development of ACWPC All-American Dragen Bakic as Pacific increased its win totals in each of the last two seasons. During his time at the Big West institution, Radmonovich also worked for the Pacific Water Polo Club.

Radmonovich got his start in coaching while working for the South East Texas Aqua Racers as a senior coach before moving to the Iolani School.

“I am extremely excited to have Chris at Wagner,” said Hameline. “He brings an abundance of experience to Grymes Hill and I look forward to him continuing the winning ways the program has achieved.”

No stranger to the pool, Radmonovich began his collegiate athletic career at the University of Arkansas Little Rock (UALR), where he lettered in both water polo and swimming for the Trojans. Radmonovich transferred to Texas A&M when UALR dropped both aquatic programs, where he played two years of collegiate water polo. He graduated from the University in Houston in 2002 with a Bachelor of Science degree before earning his master’s degree in Sports Science from the University of the Pacific.

Joining Radmonovich on the sidelines as an assistant coach will be Erica Ellis, who was a five-time Division III All-American in swimming at SUNY New Paltz before coaching at Vassar in 2009-2010.
