Grange, Anderson Named MAAC Runners of the Week

Iona's Dave Grange and Marist's Kiersten Anderson were named
the MAAC Men's and Women's Cross Country Runners of the Week, respectively.
Grange, a senior from Wheaton,
Ill., led Iona to a fifth place finish at the 2010 New York Metropolitan
Championships on Friday. Grange was the
Gaels' top performer finishing eighth overall with a time of 26:18 in the 8k
course. Fourteen teams and 140 runners
competed in the men's race.
Anderson, a freshman
from Scotia, N.Y., was the top overall finisher for the Red Foxes at the
Metropolitan Championships on Oct. 8 at Van Cortlandt Park, placing eighth
overall out of 134 runners with a time of 18:49 in the 5,000-meter course.
Anderson was also the top MAAC women's finisher at the Metropolitan
Championships, crossing the finish line 23 seconds ahead of the next closest
MAAC runner.
The 2010 MAAC Men's and Women's Cross Country Championships will be held on October
29th at Hammonasset
Beach State Park in Madison, Connecticut.
