New Rochelle, NY - The Out of the Darkness Community Walks are 3-5 mile walks taking place in over 200 communities across the country this fall.  This particular walk took place at Croton Point Park.

By walking in the Out of the Darkness Community Walks to benefit the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP), participants walked with thousands of people nationwide to raise money for AFSP's vital research and education programs to prevent suicide and save lives, increase national awareness about depression and suicide, advocate for mental health issues, and assist survivors of suicide loss.

The Women's Lacrosse team took an active role in the service event.  They registered in all participants. They gave out food and beverages.  They were posted at the half-way mark of the walk directing the walkers to the appropriate walkway while also encouraging them.  They even walked the 3 - 5 miles.  This event is only one of the many community service events our ladies will take part in.
