NICHOLE SCHIRO, LOYOLA

Schiro, a sophomore forward, turned in a pair of two-goal games this weekend as the Greyhounds defeated Fairfield and Iona in MAAC action. She tallied two goals in the first 10 minutes against Fairfield, providing the only scoring in the 2-0 victory. Schiro followed that performance with two goals, one in the 30th minute and the second in the 57th, in the Greyhounds' 3-0 victory over Iona.
MAAC Defensive Player of the Week
ASHLEIGH BOWERS, NIAGARA
GK, Sr., 5-8, Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool
Bowers, a senior goalkeeper, stopped all 10 shots she faced this weekend, while collecting two shutouts, setting a new career-high with six clean sheets. She now has a 0.67 goals-against average. Bowers is even better while playing at Niagara Field, as she has a 0.31 goals-against average (two goals allowed in six games).
MAAC Rookie of the Week
BRIANNA SMITH, CANISIUS
F, Fr., 5-5, Buffalo, N.Y./Nichols
Smith, a freshman forward, recorded one goal and one assist this past week for the Griffs. She netted a goal in the 83rd minute in Canisius' 3-2 double overtime win over nationally ranked Siena. Smith also aided in the Blue and Gold's lone goal against Marist.
