Korir, Frauenhofer Named MAAC Runners of the Week

Iona's Leonard Korir and Canisius' Maura Frauenhofer were
named the MAAC Men's and Women's Cross Country Runners of the Week,
respectively.
Korir, a senior from Iten, Kenya, posted
a ninth place performance in the Blue Race at the 2010 Pre-National
Invitational as the Gaels finished second as a team. Korir crossed the 8k line
in 23:49.1 to lead the Gaels in the race. 35 teams and 231 runners participated
in the race.
Frauenhofer, a senior
from Williamsville, N.Y., placed third of 145 runners and helped lead the
women's team to a fourth place finish at the UAlbany Invitational on Saturday
in Bethlehem, Pa. Frauenhofer finished with a time of 17:41, which was seven
seconds off pace of the leader.
The 2010 MAAC Men's and Women's Cross Country Championships will be held on October
29th at Hammonasset
Beach State Park in Madison, Connecticut.
