New Rochelle, NY - The
Iona College men's and women's cross country / track & field teams volunteered
at the Paine to Pain trail half-marathon held in lower Westchester
County. The 13-mile event began at the Thomas Paine Cottage on North Avenue,
spanned the towns of New Rochelle,
Larchmont, Mamaroneck, Scarsdale, and Eastchester
before ending at New Rochelle
High School. The event
was organized by the Sound Shore Runners and Multisport Club.
Iona's student-athletes assisted race organizers with the distribution
of water to participants in the race. The team also directed runners through
the course as well as assisted local law enforcement with its traffic duties.
