Cavallaro, Rice, Molloy and Burns Earn Swimming & Diving Weekly Awards

Edison, NJ - Brendan Cavallaro of Rider University was selected as the MAAC Men's Diver of the week, while the women's award was given to Elizabeth Rice of Siena College. The swimming honors were awarded to sophomore Brian Molloy and senior Brianna Burns, both from Rider University.

Cavallaro won both the 3-meter (348.08) and the 1-meter (304.43) in Rider's meet against Seton Hall on October 22. Cavallarao qualified for the NCAA Zone A Diving Championships and also broke the Coppola Pool record with his 3 meter score.

In Siena's meet against Vermont, Rice was the only competitor from her team in both the 1-meter and

3-meter events. She won both, scoring 210.30 in the 1-meter and 222.00 in the 3-meter. This marked her third victory of the year in her first two meets.

Molloy won two events in Rider's 171-125 loss against Seton Hall. He finished with a time of 48.27 in the 100 free and in the 200 free he touched at 1:45.91.

Burns won three events in the Broncs' 168-130 loss to Seton Hall. She swam a 24.69 in the 50 free, a 53.10 in the 100 free and a 1:54.69 in the 200 free.

The 2011 MAAC Swimming and Diving Championships will be held February 17-19 at Erie Community College in Buffalo, NY, hosted by Canisius College and Niagara University.
