PHIL BANNISTER, LOYOLA

Bannister, a senior forward, recorded three goals this past week. He scored two goals in a 3-1 win over Villanova on Wednesday before netting another to help Loyola top Adelphi, 3-1, on Saturday. He scored two goals in one minute and nine seconds against Villanova, including the eventual game winner, and his goal against Adelphi helped spark a three-goal run for the Greyhounds.
MAAC Defensive Player of the Week
GERWYN JONES, LOYOLA
D, So., 6-1, 183, Caernarfon, Wales/Ysgol Syr Hugh Owen
Jones, a sophomore defender, helped the Greyhound back line lock down Villanova, 3-1, and then pitched in on offense by scoring a goal and notching an assist against Adelphi in a 3-1 win. He began on Wednesday by anchoring a Loyola defense that allowed only one goal against the Wildcats. Jones then helped Loyola slow Adelphi by allowing one goal and also assisting on Phil Bannister's first goal before scoring one of his own (his first of the season) in the game's 61st minute.

Lands, a freshman goalkeeper, made six saves on Saturday night in a crosstown battle with Fordham University. He has started every game this season and recorded 36 saves through the six contests.
