MAAC Opens 2010-2011 Men's Basketball Schedule on Friday

Edison, N.J. - The MAAC will begin its 2010-2011 men's basketball season this weekend, starting with four games on Friday, November 12.
Iona will participate in the World Vision Classic, taking on Kent State at 5:00 p.m. Rider will face host Massachusetts at 7:30 p.m. Loyola will host Drexel for an 8:00 p.m. contest at Reitz Arena, and Canisius plays the late game on Friday, hosting local rival St. Bonaventure for an 8:30 p.m. tilt.
Five more MAAC schools will play on Saturday, November 13. Manhattan will kick off the day with a 2:00 p.m. game at NJIT. Fairfield will play Sacred Heart in the Connecticut 6 Classic, tipping off at 4:00 p.m. Saint Peter's will open up with Robert Morris with a 4:00 p.m. game in the USVI Paradise Jam. Iona will face Cleveland St. at 6:00 p.m. in the second day of the World Vision Classic. Siena, the defending MAAC Champion, will host Vermont, the 2010 champion of the America East Conference, for a 7:00 p.m. contest at the Times Union Center.
Rounding out the weekend are three games on Sunday, November 14. Canisius will take on Syracuse at 3:00 p.m., live on ESPN3.com. Iona will close out the World Vision Classic, playing Bryant at 3:00 p.m. Rider will host Lafayette at Alumni Gymnasium at 4:00 p.m., which can be seen on ESPN3.com, ESPN Full Court and RCN.
