RYAN ROSSITER, SIENA

Rossiter, a senior forward, scored 27 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in Siena's 80-76 loss to defending America East Champion Vermont. It was his 18th double-double in his last 20 games and his seventh straight. Rossiter made 8-15 field goals and all 11 of the free throws he attempted. He scored nine points in the final two minutes, helping Siena rally from a 15-point deficit to within two. The Preseason MAAC Player of the Year also moved into a tie for fourth on the school's blocked shot charts, tallying two in the season opener.
MAAC ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
MICHAEL ALVARADO, MANHATTAN
Freshman, Guard, 6-2, 185, Bronx, N.Y./All Hallows
Alvarado, a freshman guard, helped carry the Jaspers to a season opening 75-70 victory on Saturday at NJIT. In his first collegiate game, he scored 23 points and grabbed five rebounds in 40 minutes of work. Alvarado shot 41.7 percent (5-12) from the field and converted 12-of-15 (.800) free-throws. He sank 11 of his free throws in the second half, including six clutch buckets from the charity stripe in final 2:19 to seal the win. Alvarado also had two assists and one steal in his Jasper debut.
