Friedlander, Conard, Bolstad and Eliazar Claim Weekly Awards

Edison, NJ- MAAC Men's and Women's Swimmer of the Week honors were
awarded to Brian Friedlander of Fairfield University and Kate Conard of Marist
College, respectively. The Diver of the Week awards went to Brian Bolstad and
Chelaine Eliazar, both of Marist.
Friedlander, a junior, won three individual events and swam
on a second-place relay squad at Bryant on November 20.
Friedlander moved to 6-0 in the 100 breaststroke this year by clocking a time
of 1:01.62. He also won the 200-yd. breaststroke with a time of 2:12.58 and the
200-yd. IM with a time of 2:02.64. Friedlander was the second leg of the men's
400-yd. medley relay that posted a time of 3:41.25.
Conard placed first in the 500-yd. freestyle with a conference-best
time of 5:03.47, beating her previous top-time of the season by 0.4 seconds.
She paced the field of six swimmers and coasted to a victory of nearly 13
seconds. Additionally, she opened the meet as the first leg of the 200-yd.
medley relay that won the event with a time of 1:51.14. Conard finished second
in the 200-yd. individual medley as she was out-touched by .02 seconds. Her
final time was 2:08.70.
Bolstad has swept both boards in each of the last four weeks
for Marist. In Saturday's loss at Binghamton,
Bolstad won the 1-meter board with a score of 263.63 and ran away from the
field on the 3-meter board posting a score of 326.48. His margin of victory in
the 3-meter event was 87.30 points.
For the second consecutive week Eliazar was a double-winner
in the Red Foxes' dual meet loss to Binghamton
on Saturday. She won the 1-meter board with a score of 216.39 and a closely
contested 3-meter event with a score of 214.80. Her margin of victory off the
high dive was only 2.40 points.
