Morris, Conard, Bolstad and Finn Honored With Weekly Swimming & Diving Awards

Morris of Loyola University Maryland was selected as the MAAC Men's Swimmer of
the Week, while the women's award went to Kate Conard of Marist College. MAAC
Diver of the Week honors went to Brian Bolstad and Jenna Finn, both of Marist
Morris won three individual
and two relay events last weekend at the H2Ounds Invitational, helping the
Greyhounds defeat Iona, Marist and Saint Peter's. He opened with a time of
4:30.49 to claim victory in the 500-yard freestyle, and he followed that with a
first-place finish in the 1,650-yard freestyle. He clocked a time of 15:33.36
in that event, winning by more than a minute. Morris later touched the wall in
1:50.41 to win the 200-yard backstroke by more than two seconds. He was a part
of two victorious relay teams, as well, making it a 5-for-5 weekend in the
pool. Morris swam the third leg of the Greyhounds' 800-yard freestyle relay in
1:42.03, helping the Greyhounds win in 6:56.86. He wrapped up the meet by
swimming the third leg in the 400-yard freestyle relay to help Loyola cruise to
a win.
Conard won three individual
events and also participated on three winning relay teams at the H2Ounds
Invitational last weekend. The Red Foxes went 3-0 at the event and defeated
Loyola, Iona and Saint Peter's. Individually she took the 200-yd. IM with a
time of 2:08.57 and the 400-yd. IM with a time of 4:31.98. She also won the
1,650-yd. freestyle with a time of 17:21.99. In her relay events, she opened
the 400-yd. medley relay that won with a time of 3:56.17, anchored the 800- and
400-yd. freestyle relays that placed first with a times of 7:48.51 and 3:34.10
respectively.
Bolstad led the Marist men's
diving corps to the top two spots in both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events
at the H2Ounds Invitational. On the lower board he totaled 311.34 points and
finished nearly 83.5 points ahead of the second place finisher. In the 3-meter
event he won the event with a score of 266.50.
Finn was the top finisher in
the women's 3-meter dive as the Marist swimming and diving team finished 3-0 at
the H2Ounds Invitational hosted by Loyola University Maryland last weekend. She
totaled 213.70 points on Friday as the Red Foxes claimed the top three spots in
the event. In the women's 1-meter dive she claimed third place with a score of
206.70.
The 2011 MAAC
Swimming & Diving Championships will be held February 17-19 at Erie
Community College in Buffalo, NY, hosted by Canisius College and Niagara
University.
