Hudak, Marmbrandt Earn Indoor Track & Field Weekly Awards

Edison, NJ – Manhattan College’s Alex Hudak was named the MAAC Men’s Indoor Track & Field Performer of the Week, while fellow Jasper Malin Marmbrandt earned the women’s award.
Hudak, a sophomore middle distance runner from Germany, broke a 27-year-old Manhattan College school record in the 1000 meter run, taking a bronze medal in the event Saturday on the second day of the very competitive BU Valentine Invitational held at Boston University. Hudak took the bronze in an IC4A indoor qualifying time of 2:23.71, which broke the school record set in 1983 by Mike Benson.
Marmbrandt, a sophomore from Sweden, broke her own school record in the long jump, winning the event at the MC Invitational at Draddy Gym with a mark of 6.04 meters. She had lost the record momentarily when teammate Andrea Nyback broke Marmbrandt's record during the MC Invitational competition, only to see Marmbrandt take the record right back at the meet.
The MAAC Men’s and Women’s Indoor Track and Field Championships will be held on Friday, February 19th at The Armory Track & Field Center in New York City.
