Loyola Men, Marist Women Extend Lead at Day Two of Swimming & Diving Championships

Baltimore, MD - The Loyola men and Marist women extended their leads at Day Two of the 2010 MAAC Swimming & Diving Championships at Loyola University Maryland's Mangione Athletic Center.
Loyola sits at the top of the men's standings with 554.50 points, while Rider University remains in second with a score of 456. Marist is third with 381 points, followed by Saint Peter's College (312.50), Iona College (209.50), Canisius College (191), Fairfield University (186), Niagara University (171.50), and Manhattan College (76).
Marist had a strong day on the women's side, pushing its team score to 653. Rider is second with 424.50 points, followed by Siena College (340), Loyola (319), Niagara (262), Iona (233), Fairfield (190), Canisius (143.50), Saint Peter's (75), and Manhattan (37).
Loyola's Brennan Morris and Marist's Kate Conard each set MAAC Championship records for the second straight day. Morris won the men's 400-yd. IM in 3:51.54, besting the old record by over six seconds. His time an NCAA 'B' cut qualifying time and is the 15th fastest time in the country. Conard set a new conference mark in the women's 1000-yd. freestyle with a time of 10:12.97. Saint Peter's sophomore Lovro Bilonic posted a new MAAC record in the men's 100-yd. breaststroke with a time of 54.77, which also broke a seven year-old pool record. It is currently the 16th fastest time in the nation this season and is an NCAA 'B' cut qualifying time.
