Rigby, Brown, Mangan Earn Women's Lacrosse Weekly Awards

MAAC Offensive Player of the Week
ERIN RIGBY,

Rigby
propelled the Stags to a season opening win over Monmouth on Sunday with an
eight-point afternoon. All seven of her goals came after the Stags fell behind
7-4 late in the first-half. She started the 12-0 game-winning run with 4:45
left in the first-half and the scored her second tally 19 seconds into the
second-half to tie the game. After the Stags went ahead 8-7, she scored
back-to-back goals, 10 seconds apart, to push the lead to three. The eight
point effort is the third-highest single-game total in program history, with
the seven goals ranking second. She also had two draw controls, and two ground
balls.
MAAC Defensive Player of the Week
MARISSA BROWN,
CANISIUS
M, Sr., 5-4,
Syracuse, NY/Corcoran
Brown anchored the Canisius defense during a one-goal
victory over Longwood. The senior led the Griffs wtih five ground balls and
three caused turnovers to go along with two draw controls in the win.
MAAC Rookie of the Week
CHLOE
MANGAN, FAIRFIELD
M, Fr., 5-10,
Sayville, NY/St. Anthony's
Mangan was impressive in all aspects of
the game in her collegiate debut. The rookie had a goal and two assists on the
offensive side of the field. She was 1-1 in free position shots on the day and
also corralled a game-high four draw controls.
