Berthod, McCarthy Earn MAAC Tennis Weekly Awards

Edison, NJ – Fairfield’s Ryan Berthod and Marist’s Erin McCarthy have been selected as the MAAC Men’s and Women’s Tennis Players of the Week, respectively.
Berthod picked up the Stags’ lone point against Delaware on February 20. Berthod upended Sam Barrer, 7-5, 2-6, 6-3. The win marked the 115th combined victory of Berthod’s career and he’s 12 wins away from breaking the Fairfield record.
McCarthy notched the quickest victory as Marist opened the spring season on Saturday at Lehigh. She picked up a win at second singles in straight sets, 6-3, 6-0 over Liz Piscitelli.
The MAAC Men’s and Women’s Tennis Championships will take place from April 23rd through April 25th at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing, New York.
