EDISON, NJ -The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) will host its first ever Academic Fair on Saturday, March 6 during the 2010 Citizens Bank MAAC Basketball Championships in Albany, NY.

High school students will have the opportunity to speak with admissions representatives from the ten member schools of the MAAC: Canisius College (Buffalo, N.Y.), Fairfield University (Fairfield, CT), Iona College (New Rochelle, N.Y.), Loyola University Maryland (Baltimore, MD), Manhattan College (Riverdale, N.Y.), Marist College (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.), Niagara University (Lewiston, N.Y.), Rider University (Lawrenceville, N.J.), Saint Peter's College (Jersey City, N.J.) and Siena College (Loudonville, N.Y.).

The MAAC Academic Fair is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. at the Times Union Center in the Exhibit Hall. Attendees can enter the Times Union Center through the front atrium off of South Pearl Street under the door marked Academic Fair. 

"The MAAC Academic Fair affords college-bound high school students in the Capital Region the opportunity to explore everything our member institutions have to offer," commented MAAC Commissioner Richard J. Ensor. "I strongly recommend all high school students to take advantage of this opportunity to interact directly with our schools on a one-on-one basis. An added bonus is those who visit all 10 tables can receive a free ticket to one game of their choice during the MAAC Tournament."

Attendees at the fair will receive a passport that can be stamped by each of the ten schools. Any student at the fair who visits all ten stations and redeems a completed passport will receive a voucher good for one free upper level ticket to any one remaining session of the 2010 Citizens Bank MAAC Basketball Championships. Parents, guardians and friends can purchase discounted tickets. Please note this offer is only good to high school students and a valid school ID should be available. Additionally, all students AND up to two guests receive complimentary admission to Session IV of the tournament which will be taking place during the fair.
