Manhattan to Host Marist on February 5 on ESPNU

Edison, N.J. - The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference continues its 2009-10 MAAC Basketball Television Schedule with Manhattan College hosting Marist College on Friday, February 5. Game time is slated for 9:00 p.m., and will air live on ESPNU, the 24-hour college sports network.
Marist, 1-21 overall and 1-11 in the MAAC, is led by freshman guard Candon Rusin, who is contributing 9.0 points and 2.5 assists per game, and junior guard Daye Kaba, who is posting 9.0 points and 4.8 rebounds an outing for the Red Foxes.
Manhattan, 7-15 overall and 2-10 in the MAAC, is led by junior guard Rico Pickett, who is registering a league-best 17.7 points and 4.2 rebounds per game, and senior guard Darryl Crawford, who is averaging 14.4 points and 6.0 caroms an outing for the Jaspers.
Marist won the first meeting between the two programs this season with a 72-66 victory over Manhattan on January 2 at the McCann Center. Devin Price and Sam Prescott scored 13 points each for the Red Foxes' first win of the season. The Red Foxes outshot Manhattan from the field 45.8 percent (11-for-24) to 28 percent (7-for-25) in the first half to lead 32-21 at halftime. Marist led by as many as 13 points in the second half. After Manhattan pulled within 64-60, the Red Foxes were 8-for-8 from the free throw line in the final minute to hold on. Rusin scored 11 first-half points for Marist. Rob Johnson and Kaba added 10 points apiece. Pickett led the Jaspers with 26 points and Crawford added 17.
