Siena to Host Fairfield on February 8 on MSG Network

Edison, N.J. - The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference continues its 2009-10 MAAC Basketball Television Schedule with Siena College hosting Fairfield University on Monday, February 8. Game time is slated for 7:00 p.m. at the Times Union Center, and it will air live on the MSG Network.
Fairfield is currently 16-7 overall and 9-4 in the MAAC. The Stags are led by freshman guard Derek Needham, who is averaging 15.7 points and 5.8 assists per game, and senior forward Anthony Johnson, who is registering 14.6 points and 9.2 rebounds a night.
Siena is now 20-4 overall and 13-0 in league play. The Saints are led by senior forward Alex Franklin, who is averaging 16.4 points and 8.0 rebounds per game, and senior guard/forward Edwin Ubiles, who is registering 15.6 points and 3.9 rebounds a night.
Siena won the first meeting this season with an 81-73 win over Fairfield on January 16 at the Arena at Harbor Yard. Clarence Jackson hit six 3-pointers and scored 22 points to lead the Saints, who were 9-for-18 from the 3-point line (50 percent). Siena opened the second half on a 16-4 run and led the final 18:46, but Fairfield cut the deficit to 79-73 on Mike Evanovich's 3-pointer with 19 seconds remaining. The Stags could get no closer as Ryan Rossiter hit two free throws for Siena. Rossiter had 17 points and 10 rebounds. Franklin scored 16 and Ubiles added 15. Yorel Hawkins scored 20, Needham had 16, Ryan Olander had 14 points and 10 rebounds, and Johnson added 12 points for Fairfield.
