RACHELE FITZ, MARIST
Senior, Forward, 6-0, Seven Hills, Ohio/Trinity
Fitz averaged 22.5 points and
9.5 rebounds per game this week in games against Iona and Manhattan to wrap up
the regular season. The senior forward opened the week with 28 points and 12
rebounds in the Red Foxes' 82-80 overtime win at Iona on Friday night. She
scored Marist's last seven points in regulation, including a pair of free
throws with 1.2 seconds remaining, to force overtime. Fitz was 11-of-16 from
the field and a perfect 5-for-5 at the free throw line. She followed that
performance with 17 points and seven rebounds in a 65-62 loss at Manhattan
Sunday. Fitz was 9-for-12 at the free throw line against the Lady Jaspers,
snapping a streak of 43 consecutive made free throws.
MAAC Rookie of the
Week
KATELYN LINNEY, FAIRFIELD
Freshman, Guard, 5-6, Freehold, NJ/St. John Vianney
Linney averaged
11.5 points per game in the Stags 2-0 week. She also pulled down seven rebounds
and handed out three assists. Linney scored a game-high 17 points to help the
Stags rally from 17-2 down against Niagara. She added a pair of key
three-pointers in the four-point win over Canisius.
