Moran, Moeller, and Marrapese Named Men's Lacrosse Players of the Week

TIM MORAN, VMI

M, Sr., 5-9, Florence, NJ/Holy Cross

Moran had five goals and an assist on the week, despite VMI going 0-2 during the seven-day period. The Keydet star midfielder had three goals in Tuesday’s loss to #1 Virginia, and then posted two scores and an assist in Saturday’s setback against Vermont. The scoring output moved him into a tie for eighth on the all-time points list at VMI, while also placing him in a tie for the ninth-most goals in program history.

MAAC Defensive Player of the Week

KYLE MOELLER, MANHATTAN

D, So., 6-1, South Setauket, NY/Ward Melville

Against sixth-ranked Princeton, Moeller played lockdown defense on the Tigers’ All-American attackman Chris McBride, limiting him to just one goal and three shots on goal. Moeller also collected a team-high four ground balls and caused four turnovers in the game.

MAAC Rookie of the Week

ARTIE MARRAPESE, SAINT JOSEPH’S

M, Fr., 5-11, Orchard Park, NY/Orchard Park

Marrapese assisted two goals and picked up six ground balls while going 6-14 in face-offs against Penn on Wednesday and notched a goal and an assist against Brown on Saturday. Marrapese leads the team in assists this season (5).
