Poughkeepsie, NY- Prior to the Marist women's basketball game against Rider on February 12, the Marist Athletics Department gave away pink shirts designed by Rachele Fitz, a fashion major and women's basketball student-athlete, as part of the WBCA Pink Zone promotion. A ceremony was held at halftime recognizing breast cancer survivors from the area.
Loic Sessagesimi, a men's tennis athlete, volunteered his time before and during the game by collecting donations, passing out pink ribbons and selling raffle tickets. Over $1,800 was raised and donated to the Miles of Hope Foundation.
