MAAC Offensive Player of the Week

COREY ZINDEL, MARIST

A, Jr., 6-1, Randolph, NJ/Randolph

MAAC Defensive Player of the Week

BRENT HERBST, SIENA

G, Sr., 6-0, 180, Plainview, NY/Plainview JFK

Herbst made nine saves and allowed just seven goals to No. 4 Johns Hopkins at Homewood Field. Herbst made two big saves, going down and smothering rockets early in the first quarter as his team settled down in front of him. Siena registered its first shot at 6:06 of the first quarter. Herbst made a heads-up play with the game tied and just a minute left in the game. Siena turned the ball over in its own end and Steven Boyle had the ball all alone 10 yards away from the cage. Herbst read the play, came sprinting out, and hit Boyle before he could turn. Boyle flung the ball towards the empty net, but it hit the post. Herbst was called for a 30-second penalty and Hopkins went man-up. Hopkins scored on extra-man with Siena's backup goalie in the game and Herbst watching from the penalty box.

MAAC Rookie of the Week

KELLY McMINN, VMI

G, R-Fr., 5-10, Mission Viejo, CA/JSerra Catholic

McMinn stopped 16 shots in VMI's 10-9 win over Jacksonville, including three during a key JU possession late in the fourth quarter that helped preserve the narrow margin. The save total was a career high for the redshirt freshman, making his second collegiate start and third career appearance. It also ranked him fourth on the all-time VMI single-game list.
