Player of the Week
JUSTYN CARTER, SAINT PETER'S
Sophomore, IF, 6-1, 170, Mount Laurel, N.J./Lenape
Carter batted .480 (12-25), drove in four runs and tallied nine stolen bases as the Peacocks went 6-1 last week. He scored 10 runs and recorded three doubles. In the weekend series at Delaware State, Carter went 6-for-12 at the plate, with eight runs, four RBI and seven stolen bases to his credit.
Pitcher of the Week
MIKE THOMAS, RIDER
Junior, LHP, 6-2, 175, Forest Hill, Md./Fallston
Thomas earned the win in Rider's 2-0 victory at Longwood. He pitched 7.1 innings, giving up five hits and one walk while striking out six batters for his second win of the season.
Rookie of the Week
JOHN SOLDINGER, MANHATTAN
Freshman, RHP, 6-3, 205, Bay Shore, N.Y./Bay Shore
Soldinger saved both of the Jaspers' wins last week over BIG EAST member Seton Hall and regional power Liberty. He pitched two scoreless innings and notched three strikeouts as he extended his MAAC leading save total to five. Soldinger was nearly flawless in both appearances, yielding just three hits. He struck out two of the Jaspers' three outs in the 10th inning to preserve a 14-13 comeback win at Liberty, and he recorded one strikeout in a 3-2 victory over the Pirates.
