Healy, Sullivan and Jones Take Home MAAC Softball Weekly Honors

Player of the Week
TERESA HEALY, NIAGARA
Junior, 2B, 5-10, Las Vegas, Nev./Centennial
Healy was effective at the plate and in the field for Niagara in four games this past weekend. She went 7-for-13 with seven RBIs and four runs, including two RBIs in three games. Healy went 3-for-3 with two RBIs and one run in NU's 7-5 win over Lehigh on Saturday, and 1-for-3 with two RBIs and one run in the win over Saint Joseph. On the weekend, she had three home runs and had a .538 batting average and a 1.308 slugging percentage. In the field, Healy had 12 putouts and eight assists. She also had two stolen bases.
Pitcher of the Week
ERIKA SULLIVAN, MANHATTAN
Junior, P/IF, 5-4, Bay Shore, N.Y./Bay Shore
Sullivan tossed three shutouts, including a pair of 1-0 victories, as part of a 4-0 week at the Rebel Spring Games. She held Lafayette scoreless in 13 of the 14 innings in the two games. Sullivan then scattered four hits and struck out four in the 1-0 victory over Army. She concluded her week with her second consecutive shutout (and third of the week) against Fairleigh Dickinson on Friday. Sullivan had an ERA of 0.53 in five games (including one relief appearance), giving up just two runs in 26.1 innings. She also struck out 14 and walked just two on the week.
Rookie of the Week
SHANNON JONES, SIENA
Freshman, SS, 5-6, Troy, N.Y./Troy
Jones had a strong weekend in four games at the Radford Invitational. She batted .545 (6-for-11) with three RBI. Jones began the week with 1-for-3 effort that included a 2-run home run in a narrow 6-4 loss to Kent State. She went 5-for-6 with an RBI in the Saints' two games with Albany to close out the weekend.
