Baltimore, MD- At the end of February, Loyola athletics celebrated women and their contributions to, and ongoing participation in, athletics on National Girls and Women in Sports Day.

The day featured several activities designed to educate girls on the positive impact of sports and physical activity. The event, opened to girls from Kindergarten through eighth grade, centered around the Greyhounds' women's basketball game against Niagara.

"This is a great opportunity for girls in our community to come out and see a basketball game while they participate in a day that is geared to celebrating women of all ages," Loyola Head Women's Basketball Coach Joe Logan said. "We hope that parents will encourage their daughters to attend and that our event will serve as a lasting reminder of the importance of continued advancement of women in sports."
