MAAC Offensive Player of the Week

CONNOR RICE, MARIST

A, Fr., 5-7, Penfield, NY/Penfield

Rice had a game-high five goals and three assists in Marist's 15-9 win over Saint Joseph's Saturday. His eight points are a career-high for Rice, who also caused four turnovers.  Rice had a man-up and a man-down goal among his five tallies on Saturday.

MAAC Defensive Player of the Week

BRENT HERBST, SIENA

G, Sr., 6-0, 185, Plainview, NY/Plainview JFK

Herbst had a 5.50 GAA and a .633 save percentage in a 2-0 week for the Saints. He made 12 saves and allowed just two goals in a 5-2 victory against Air Force. He faced 41 shots in that game. Herbst followed that with seven saves in an 11-9 win against former MAAC member Providence on Saturday.

MAAC Rookie of the Week

JOEL MATTHEWS, DETROIT

A, Fr., 6-3, St. Catharines, Ontario/Holy Cross Secondary

Matthews was on top of his game again, offensively and defensively, as the freshman helped Detroit to not only its first-ever victory in program history with two goals, two assists, four ground balls and two caused turnovers in a 16-12 win over Presbyterian, but also its first MAAC victory (11-8 over VMI) with four goals, four caused TO's and three GB's. For the week he had eight points on six goals and two assists, seven ground balls and six caused turnovers.
