JACI RAHEY, MANHATTAN
Junior, IF, 6-0, West Milford, N.J./DePaul Catholic
Rahey hit .556 in three games last week, going 5-for-9 with three extra base hits. She also had at least one RBI in each of the three contests. After knocking an RBI single in the first game of a doubleheader against Army on Thursday, Rahey doubled in her only official at-bat and drove in a run with a sacrifice fly in the second game. She went 3-for-4 against Columbia on Sunday, and her third-inning grand slam gave the Lady Jaspers a lead they would not relinquish in an 8-5 victory. Rahey slugged 1.111 for the week and was perfect in 13 fielding chances.
MAAC Pitcher of the Week
SARAH JACKSON, IONA
Sophomore, RHP, 5-8, Citrus Heights, Calif./Del Campo
Jackson went 2-0 for the Gaels in starts at Drexel and at Columbia. Against the Dragons, she allowed one earned run in eight innings, scattering six hits and striking out five. Against the Lions, Jackson went six innings, her second complete of the week, and allowed two hits and a run while striking out 10.
MAAC Rookie of the Week
HEATHER MUSCARA, RIDER
Freshman, OF, 5-3, North Bellemore, N.Y./Mepham
Muscara batted .600 in Rider's three games this past week and is currently on an eight-game hitting streak. She had one hit against Saint Joseph's in the season opener, and five hits and four RBI in the doubleheader at Army. In game one against the Black Knights, Muscara hit a two-run single with two out in the seventh inning, turning a 7-6 deficit into an 8-7 lead in the eventual 9-7 win.
