Sunday led the Red Foxes to
a 10-8 victory over Harvard with six goals. She scored back-to-back goals in
the first quarter to put Marist up 3-0 and then added another tally to give the
Red Foxes a 5-2 lead after one period. Sunday scored Marist's last three goals
to secure the victory.
MAAC Defensive Player of the Week
KELSEY RODGERS,
WAGNER
G, Sr., 5-9,
Anaheim Hills, CA/Canyon/Fullerton JC
Rodgers finished the weekend 2-2 with two losses
coming against nationally ranked Michigan and Indiana. Rodgers has double-digit saves in all four
games (including three games in which she only played three quarters). She extended her streak to six straight games
with double-digit saves and has registered 15 or more stops in nine games this
season.
MAAC Rookie of the Week
ALYSSA TURZA, IONA
UT, Fr., 5-8,
Orland Park, IL/Sandburg
Turza helped lead Iona to a 4-0 record at the
Claremont Convergence with four goals and an assist in two games. Turza had two
goals against Cal Lutheran and followed that up with a two goals, one assist
performance against Pomona-Pitzer.
