LeFante, Tilley Awarded March Golfer of the Month Accolades

Edison, NJ – Rider’s Eric LeFante was chosen as the MAAC Men’s Golfer of the Month for March, while Siena’s Cortney Tilley was awarded the MAAC Women’s Golfer of the Month award.
LeFante, a graduate student from Colts Neck, N.J., opened the spring season by placing 13th of 96 golfers at the George Washington Invitational March 19-20, shooting 70-72-76 for a three-round total of 218. He followed that performance by winning the 60 golfer Monmouth Spring Invitational on March 27-28 on the first playoff hole. LeFante shot 69-75 (144 total), leading Rider to a tie for second place at the 12-team tournament.
Tilley, a freshman from Plaistow, N.H., shot rounds of 80 and 82 respectively to lead all Siena golfers by finishing tied for 30th overall at the C&F Bank Intercollegiate held in Willamsburg, Virginia. Tilley's performance helped pace the Saints to a 10th place overall finish, which was tops amongst all conference schools competing in the event. Earlier in the month, Tilley placed second in a tri-match versus Hartford and Rutgers in Port St. Lucie, Florida.
The 2010 Men’s and Women’s Golf Championships will be held April 30th-May 2nd at Celebration Golf Club in Celebration, Florida.
