2010 Citizens Bank MAAC Women's Basketball Championship Quarterfinals Set for Friday

Albany, NY - The 2010 Citizens Bank MAAC Women's Basketball Championship continues today with four quarterfinal contests. All four games can be seen live on MAACSports.com.
In the first game, slated for a 9:30 a.m. tip-off, second-seeded Iona takes on seventh-seeded Siena. Siena advanced to the quarterfinal round with a 45-25 victory over Rider. The two teams split their two regular season meetings, with Iona winning the first game 69-55 and Siena taking the second 75-67 in overtime.
The second game pits third-seeded Fairfield against sixth-seeded Loyola. The Stags took both games this year, winning two close games - 60-57 and 63-58.
Top-seeded Marist will face ninth-seeded Canisius in a 1:30 p.m. contest. Marist is 2-0 against the Golden Griffins this season. Marist has also knocked Canisius out of the last two MAAC Championships, with last season's victory coming in the Championship Game.
The final game of the day features fourth-seeded Manhattan against fifth-seeded Niagara. Manhattan took two games from the Purple Eagles this season. The Lady Jaspers won 70-54 at the Gallagher Center and 55-53 on their home court.
