Buffalo, NY - Junior midfielder Adam Jones (Owen Sound, Ontario) of the Canisius College men’s lacrosse team is listed on the 2010 Tewaaraton Watch List.
The Tewaaraton Award was established in 2000 is the pre-eminent lacrosse award, given annually the NCAA men’s and women’s lacrosse player of the year. Jones is the first-ever Griff to be listed as a candidate for the award.
The 2010 MAAC Preseason Player of the Year, Jones has totaled seven points, five goals and two assists in two games this season, including a four-point performance against No. 8 Cornell.
During his career, Jones has totaled 92 points, 76 goals and 16 assists. He is just eight points shy of becoming the 15th player in the program’s history to record his 100th career point. Jones has led all midfielders in the country in goals per game during each of his first two seasons with the Griffs.
Following the 2008 season, Jones became the first Griff to garner All-America accolades. He is also a two-time All-MAAC First Team selection and was named a preseason All-American by Inside Lacrosse this season.
