MAAC Player of the Week
ALLYSSA JAMES, IONA
Sophomore, 1B, 5-8, Sacramento, Calif./Foothill
James went a combined 12-21 (.571) in the Gaels' 6-0 week. She drove in runs in four of six games and had five multi-hit contests against Army, Manhattan and Rider. James also scored seven runs. In game two at Manhattan, she had three hits, including a double and home run, scored twice and drove in three runs in the 7-4 victory. In the Gaels' home-opening double header against Rider, James went 3-3 in the Gaels' 11-1 game two victory. She scored twice in the Gaels' 10-run fourth inning while driving in a run in the frame as well.
MAAC Pitcher of the Week
SARAH JACKSON, IONA
Sophomore, RHP, 5-8, Citrus Heights, Calif./Del Campo
Jackson went 3-0 on the week, allowing just three earned runs while fanning 32 batters in 22.0 innings of work. Against Manhattan, Jackson helped the Gaels to their first MAAC victory of the season, going seven innings and allowing just six hits and a run while striking out 10. She was then called upon in game two to close door as Iona held a tight 7-4 lead. Jackson responded by picking up the save for the Gaels, striking all three batters she faced. In the Gaels' home opener against Rider, Jackson went the full seven once again, allowing just two hits while striking out 13, the second most of her career.
MAAC Rookie of the Week
AMANDA BAUN, CANISIUS
Freshman, P, 5-8, Riverside, Calif./Martin Luther King
Baun tossed her fourth complete-game shutout of the season where she fanned eight and walked just two in the Golden Griffins' 6-0 win over Siena at home April 10. Baun gave up just four base hits and allowed only two Siena base runners to reach third base en route to her team-leading 10th win of the season in the circle for the Griffs.
