MASON HEYNE, RIDER
Junior, 3B, 6-2, 210, Shrewsbury, Pa./Susquehannock
Heyne batted .545 (12 for 22) in 4-1 week, scoring seven runs while knocking in eight. He recorded six doubles this past week and extended his hitting streak to 14 games. In the three-game sweep at Saint Peter's, Heyne batted .667 (8-for-12) with six doubles.
MAAC Pitcher of the Week
DANIEL MORARI, NIAGARA
Senior, LHP, 6-0, 180, Saskatoon, Sask./Dickinson State
Morari earned the 7-2 victory over Marist without allowing an earned run. He allowed just four hits and did not allow a runner past second base through his first eight innings, and was just one out away from pitching his sixth career complete game before a fielding error and his first two walks forced him to be removed. Morari faced the minimum batters in four innings, struck out three batters and induced a pair of inning-ending double plays in the victory. He retired the first eight batters he faced in the win.
MAAC Rookie of the Week
MIKE OREFICE, MARIST
Freshman, 1B, 5-9, 190, Wappingers Falls, N.Y./Roy C. Ketchum
Orefice hit .333 (6-for-18) with four RBIs and five runs scored as Marist went 5-1 this past week. He drew six walks against no strikeouts for an on-base percentage of .480 while slugging .389 this past week. In the first game of a doubleheader against Brown, Orefice had a walk-off single in the bottom of the seventh to give Marist a 1-0 win. Against Albany, he went 3-for-4 with a walk, double and two runs scored. Orefice then had two RBIs, a run scored, three walks and a sacrifice fly while recording 13 putouts at Niagara.
