Borst, Healy, Sullivan and Petersen Earn MAAC Softball Weekly Accolades

MAAC Co-Players of the Week
MEGHAN BORST, FAIRFIELD
Senior, OF, 5-8, Rockville Centre, N.Y./Sacred Heart Acad.
Borst batted .550 through six games last week. She had at least one hit in all six games, and had two or more hits in four contests. Against Marist and Siena, she batted nine hits in 14 at-bats (.600) with two doubles and five RBI. Borst also stole five bases in as many attempts against MAAC opponents.
TERESA HEALY, NIAGARA
Junior, 2B, 5-10, Las Vegas, Nev./Centennial
Healy batted .524 over six games this past week. She drove in nine runs while scoring seven runs on her own. Against Saint Peter's and Manhattan, Healy led the Purple Eagles in batting average (.600), hits (9), RBIs (9), total bases (18) and was tied for first in runs (5).
MAAC Pitcher of the Week
ERIKA SULLIVAN, MANHATTAN
Sophomore, RHP, 5-8, Citrus Heights, Calif./Del Campo
Sullivan went 4-0 with a 0.66 ERA last week. Against Canisius, Sullivan gave up just three hits and striking out four while not walking a batter in a 5-1 Manhattan victory. She retired 13 straight Griffs at one point, as Manhattan posted its first victory over Canisius since 2004. She followed up that performance with a one-run, five-hit complete game in a 3-1 win over Niagara.
MAAC Rookie of the Week
JODI PETERSEN, IONA
Freshman, OF, 5-3, Riverside, Calif./Martin Luther King
Petersen went a combined 11-21 (.524) for the Gaels and connected on hits in each of the six Iona contests this week. Against Siena, she went 4-for-6 and scored a run for the Gaels. Against Marist, Petersen collected three hits, including the first homer of the season at Rice Oval for the Gaels, along with two runs and two RBI.
