JERSEY CITY, NJ - The Saint Peter's College men's basketball team has been selected to play in the 2010 US Virgin Islands Paradise Jam at University of the Virgin Islands in St. Thomas. The Peacocks are among eight teams selected for the field. The event takes place from November 18th-23rd. This is the first time that Saint Peter's will participate in the Paradise Jam.
"We are extremely honored to have been selected to play in the Paradise Jam," said Saint Peter's College Head Coach John Dunne. "We are looking forward to what will be a great touranment and a good early test for our team."
The Peacocks will play their first game of the tournament at 1pm EST on Friday, November 19th against Old Dominion University. They will then play at either 6pm EST on Sunday or 3:30pm EST on Saturday against either Long Beach State or Clemson. The Peacocks final game of the Paradise Jam will take place on November 22nd.
Besides Saint Peter's, Old Dominion, Long Beach State and Clemson, the field also includes Alabama, Iowa, Xavier and longtime rival Seton Hall.
