Semifinal Matchups Set in 2010 MAAC Tennis Championships

Flushing, NY - The top three seeds in action on Friday advanced in the 2010 MAAC Men's Tennis Championship. On the women's side, top-seeded Fairfield, second-seeded Marist, third-seeded Loyola, and fifth-seeded Niagara advanced to the semifinal round.
In the first match of the day, the fourth-seeded Loyola men rallied for a dramatic 4-3 victory over fifth-seeded Niagara. The Greyhounds will face first-seeded Marist, who received a first round bye. Second-seeded Fairfield will take on #3 Saint Peter's in the second semifinal. The Stags defeated Rider, 6-1, while the Peacocks topped Siena, 6-1. Both semifinal matches are scheduled for 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
The Fairfield women advanced with a 7-0 victory over Saint Peter's, while Niagara upended fourth-seeded Siena, 4-3. Marist will face Loyola in the second semifinal after wins over Rider (7-0) and Manhattan(7-0), respectively. Both matches are scheduled for noon on Saturday.
