Poughkeepsie, NY- On April 25, the Marist women's basketball team adopted 11 year-old Nina Tripolo through the Friends of Jaclyn Foundation. FOJ was inspired by Hudson Valley native, Jaclyn Murphy who was diagnosed with a brain tumor as a child. The foundation links children with pediatric brain tumors with athletic programs to provide a support system while they battle the tumor. Nina is from Stone Ridge, NY and was diagnosed with Pilocytic astrocytoma, a benign brain tumor in 2007. She was present with her family for the adoption celebration on the Marist campus.
