MAGGIE WOOD, IONA

UT, Jr., 5-10, Evergreen Park, IL/Mother McAuley

Wood led the Gaels to a 2-0 start in conference play with 11 points on nine goals and two assists. She had three goals and an assist in a 12-6 victory over Siena and then had six goals and an assist against St. Francis (NY). She also had six kickouts drawn in the two contests.

MAAC Defensive Player of the Week

JESSICA GETCHIUS, MARIST

G, Sr., 5-7, Simi Valley, CA/Ventura JC

Getchius helped lead Marist to a 2-0 start in MAAC play, making 22 saves and allowing just 13 goals in the two victories. She made 13 saves and allowed seven goals in a win over St. Francis (NY). Getchius followed that performance by allowing only six goals against Wagner. For the week, she had a goals against average of 6.50.

ALYSSA TURZA, IONA

UT, Fr., 5-8, Orland Park, IL/Sandburg

Turza helped Iona to an undefeated start in league play with four goals in two matches. She had two goals each against both Siena and St. Francis (NY).
