Edison, NJ – Manhattan’s Roman Ewald was named the MAAC Men’s Outdoor Track & Field Performer of the Week, while Iona’s Heidi Gregson earned the women’s weekly honor.

Ewald, a sophomore from Germany, grabbed two gold medals this weekend at the Sam Howell Invitational held at Princeton University. On Saturday, Ewald won the men's shot put with a toss of 16.49-meters, an IC4A outdoor qualifying mark. A day earlier he won the discus throw with a 50.60-meter mark.

Gregson, a sophomore from Sydney, Australia, was the first collegiate finisher in the 800-meter run at the 2010 Colonial Relays hosted by the College of William & Mary. Gregson's time of 2:07.10 earned top points in the event for the Gaels and was more than a second ahead of the second collegiate finisher from Georgetown. The time was also the second fastest in school history, just .03 seconds behind the three year old mark and more than eight seconds faster than the No. 3 time. Gregson also anchored an ECAC Championship qualifying mark in the 4x800-meter relay event. Iona's quartet finished eighth overall in 9:04.66. There were 78 athletes in the women's 800m race and 22 teams in the 4x800 relay
