2010 MAAC Softball Championship Bracket Set

Edison, N.J. - The 2010 MAAC Softball Championship begins Thursday, May 13, at the Demske Sports Complex on the campus of Canisius College in Buffalo, N.Y. All games of the championship can be seen at www.maacsports.com.
In the first contest, the second-seeded Iona College Gaels will take on the third-seeded Niagara University Purple Eagles at noon. Following that game, the top-seeded Canisius Golden Griffins will take on the fourth-seeded Manhattan College Jaspers at 2:00 p.m.
Canisius and Iona finished the regular season tied atop the MAAC standings at 13-3. Niagara finished the season at 10-6 in league play, while Manhattan ended the MAAC schedule at 9-7 to earn the final spot in the championship.
On Friday, May 14, play resumes at 11:00 a.m., with the winners of Thursday's contests squaring off. First pitch of Game 4 is at 1:00 p.m., which will be the first elimination game of the MAAC Championship. At 3:00 p.m., another elimination contest will take place, setting up the two teams who will advance to the championship round.
The championship game will take place on Saturday, May 15, at noon. If necessary, a second game will follow at 2:00 p.m.
The winner of the 2010 MAAC Softball Championship earns the league's automatic bid to the 2010 NCAA Division I Softball Championship.
