Edison, N.J. - The 2011 MAAC Men's and Women's Swimming & Diving Championships will be held February 17-19 at the Aquatics Center at the Burt Flickinger Center on the city campus of Erie Community College in Buffalo, New York.

"The MAAC continues to find strong growth in its member schools swimming programs and the selection of a neutral site host facility with increased capacity is the next step in that process," notes MAAC Commissioner Richard Ensor. "I expect our fans will find the ECC and Western NY to be an accommodating site for the championship."

The Burt Flickinger Center was constructed for the World University Games in 1993, and is one of the top aquatic centers in the country, gaining international and national prestige. It has hosted many events including the US Open, NCAA, SUNYAC, Atlantic 10, NJCAA, YMCA, and New York State High School Championships.

The Aquatic Center houses an eight-lane, 50-meter competition pool with two one-meter diving boards and two three-meter diving boards. In addition, the Flickinger Center offers a four-foot, six-lane regulation warm-up pool. There is seating for approximately 1,200 spectators in the Aquatic Center.

Erie Community College is a two-year community college that is part of the 64-campus SUNY system. It is the fourth-largest community college in New York State. ECC serves Erie County and the surrounding communities of western New York.

Over 400 swimmers participated in the 2010 championship that was held at the Fitness and Aquatics Center at Loyola University in Baltimore. The 2010 champions were Loyola on the men's side and Marist College on the women's side.

Tickets for the championships will go on sale in December and the MAAC will again use TicketLeap as its online ticketing system. All session tickets will be priced at $50. The 2010 championships at Loyola University were a sellout for the fourth year in a row.

Canisius College and Niagara University will serve as co-hosts for the championships and will assist the MAAC staff with operations and hospitality. BookMyGroup will handle all team rooming arrangements for the championships.
