MAAC Offensive Player of the Week
ABI COTTAM, RIDER
F, So., 5-9, Leominster, England/Ludlow
Cottam, a sophomore forward, recorded five goals and one assist in a 2-1 week for the Broncs. She scored all three goals in Rider's 3-0 win at Delaware State, the first hat trick by a Bronc in seven years. Cottam also added a goal and an assist in Rider's 2-0 victory over FDU, followed by a goal at Sacred Heart.
MAAC Defensive Player of the Week
DANIELLE IPPOLITO, LOYOLA
GK, So., 5-8, Bellmore, N.Y./W.C. Mepham
Ippolito, a sophomore goalkeeper, made a career-high 14 saves in Loyola's 1-1 tie against La Salle, including several on one-versus-one breakaways by the Explorers. Her performance followed her first collegiate shutout, a 96-minute affair against George Washington. Ippolito made five saves, including three in the final 10 minutes of regulation of the Greyhounds' 1-0 victory.
MAAC Rookie of the Week
BRIANNA SMITH, CANISIUS
F, Fr., 5-5, Buffalo, N.Y./Nichols
Smith, a freshman forward, accounted for three of the six goals scored over the weekend by the Golden Griffins. She scored two goals against Wright State on Friday and tallied a game-winning goal against Youngstown State on Sunday. Smith's six-point weekend helped lead the Griffs to a record of 2-0.
