Gonzalez, Golen, Earn MAAC Runner of the Week Awards

Edison, NJ - Rider's
Christian Gonzalez and Fairfield's Kristen Golen, were named the MAAC Men's and
Women's Cross Country Runners of the Week, respectively.
Gonzalez, a senior from Somerset, N.J.,
finished first overall of 136 runners at the 14-team Fordham Fiasco, covering
the 5.0 mile Van Cortlandt Park course in 25:50.1. This is Rider's first
individual winner in an invitational race since 2003.
Golen, a junior from Malvern, Pa., was the runner-up at the 2010
Fairfield Invitational held on Fairfield's North Benson Road campus. Golen clocked
a time of 19:52 in the women's 5K to help the Stags to capture the team title.
She finished second out of 33 runners.
The 2010 MAAC Men's and Women's Cross Country
Championships will be held on October 29th at Hammonasset Beach State Park in Madison, Connecticut.
