Lundgren, Anderson Named MAAC Runners of the Week

Manhattan's Tobias Lundgren and Marist's Kiersten Anderson
were named the MAAC Men's and Women's Cross Country Runners of the Week,
respectively.
Lundgren, a junior from Alta,
Sweden, finished first overall at the Fr. Victor Leeber Invitational on
Saturday. Despite the hot, humid conditions,
he completed the 8K course in 26:19.43, more than 40 seconds ahead of the
second-place finisher. His effort helped
the Jaspers secure a fourth place finish in the team standings. Lundgren has been Manhattan's top finisher in both of his races
this season.
Anderson, a freshman
from Scotia, N.Y., was the top overall finisher for the Red Foxes at the Fr.
Victor F. Leeber, S.J. Invitational at Fairfield University on September 25,
placing second overall out of 99 runners with a time of 19:04.22 in the
5,000-meter course.
The 2010 MAAC Men's and Women's Cross Country Championships will be held on October
29th at Hammonasset
Beach State Park in Madison, Connecticut.
