New Rochelle, NY - On December 22nd, members of the Iona College SAAC sponsored a toy
drive for Toys for Tots during the men's and women's basketball doubleheader.
At the Iona College men's and women's basketball games, Gael fans came out not
only to support the Maroon and Gold, but to make Christmas a little brighter
for families a little less fortunate than their own. Many Iona
fans who came to the game brought a toy to benefit the Westchester County
Marine Corps League "Toys for Tots" program. This event was sponsored
by the Iona College Student Athlete Advisory Committee.
The
primary goal of "Toys for Tots" is to deliver a message of hope to
needy youngsters to motivate them to grow into responsible, productive,
patriotic citizens and community leaders. We please ask all fans that come to
show Gael pride on Thursday and Friday, to think of others during the holiday
season and donate a toy to the program.
